Foundation for Rural Development is a non-discriminatory, non-profit civil society organization established in 2006. FRD formally got registered with the department of social welfare Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, in June 2008. FRD.
FRD has been providing services to the poor community as part of humanitarian response in the phases of Emergency, early recovery, rehabilitation, and long term development in the sectors of Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter/NFIs, Camp Coordination, and Camp management, Community infrastructure, Livelihood development, Non-formal education, and Natural resource management along with the Linkages development of grass-root communities with government and non-government agencies with a focus on community development and mobilization.
FRDs main target groups are the poorest and the poor segments. Still, being an inclusive organization, working to promote principles of harmony and peaceful co-existence within the society, FRD works with almost all socio-economic classes to establish open communication channels among various groups. FRD has been actively managing programs in erstwhile FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab regions of Pakistan.
