Global Hand Washing Day celebrated by FRD in 6 Refugee Villages of KP and conveyed the message of Happy Hand washing to around 3000 students and 100 teachers Global Hand washing Day is a timely reminder of the importance of good hand hygiene to prevent the spread of infections. Hands are one of the biggest spreaders of germs. Hand washing with warm water and soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent the spread of germs and infections. Studies show that it lowers the transmission of diarrhea and colds both at work place and home.

Capacity building and refresher training of duty bearers of existing TJs to sensitize them on their rights and obligationsLivelihoods Programme Hindukush (LPH) FATA Region works on Agriculture, Livestock, Forest, Non-Formal Education and Community Infrastructure schemes (CISs) while all these components are spinning around the Taraqyati Jirgas (TJs). Only strong and mature TJs can help in carrying out programme activities smoothly. In this regard, a refresher Community Management Skill Training (CMST) was arranged for 88 office bearers (Presidents, General Secretaries and Finance Secretaries) of TJs of Pindiali and Gandao valley of Mohmand Agency.

FRD enters an agreement with UNHCR for responding to North Waziristan IDPs situation in Bannu Keeping in view the current influx of thousands of IDPs families from North Waziristan Agency to District Bannu and other areas of Pakistan, FRD has entered another agreement with UNHCR for facilitating the IDPs in various possible ways.

Minister Social Welfare, KP, Dr. Meher Taj Roghani Inaugurates Skill Development Training for women Managed by FRD Peshawar(PR): Foundation for Rural Development (FRD) with the support of Peshawar Uplift Program(PUP)formally inaugurated “Skill Development for Economic Uplift” project in Peshawar. The core objective of the project is women empowerment and skill enhancement of semi-skilled women with a view to enable them to support male members of their families in bread earning and enhancing their family income for a prosperous and dignified life.

Capacity Building & skill Development Training prioritized for 2014 plan Foundation for Rural Development (FRD) is a non-profit, non-political, non-government organization established in 2006 and registered in 2008 under voluntary social welfare societies ordinance of 1961. FRD strongly believes in well functioning markets and local economic development for effectively alleviating poverty. Well functioning markets always require presence of trained human resource, and the context of FATA and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa demands the presence of skilled human resource for local economic development. In this connection FRD has identified various training institutes and resource persons who can provide relevant trainings to unemployed youth of FATA and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa

Naat & Debate competitions organized by FRD at Landi kotal and Jamrud Khyber Agency FRD and RAHA-UNHCR organized debate competitions at Landikotal and Jamrud Khyber agency. Naib Tehsildar from political administration was the chief guest for the Landi Kotal event whereas the principal of GHSS No.1 was the Chief Guest for the Jamrud event.

Cultural Convention & Pushto Mushaaira; hosted by FRD under RAHA culture and youth events program at Hamza Baba cultural complex, Landi kotal FRD organized Pashtu Mushaaira under RAHA culture and youth events program that aims at strengthening the social cohesion and peaceful coexistence between refugee and host community through cultural conventions and sporting events.
