    FRD participated as an exhibitor in the eighth National Disaster Management Exhibition held at University of Peshawar on Wednesday. The two-day fair was organized by the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management volunteer club in collaboration with PDMA-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, UNDP, ACF International (Action against Hunger), Handicap International, ActionAid and The NGO World Foundation in the lawns of the Sheikh Muhammad Taimur Academic Block.

    FRD established parking area at Amangarh to facilitate repatriating afghan families

    FRD has recently established new VRC at Azakhel to facilitate speedy repatriation of afghan refugee families. The families arriving at the VRC were coming with loaded vehicles with the luggage to carry back home and due to increased numbers the vehicles were parked on the main GT road. The parking of large number of large vehicles on the busy GT road created traffic issues. To address the issue FRD established separate parking lot at the location of Aman Garh to accommodate the large vehicles parked on the roads for days and to facilitate the waiting families by providing them safe and secure location to stay.

    FRD-MSP organized Hand Washing activities in 17 Schools of Town 1 Peshawar

    15th Octobers is the day, celebrated as Global Hand Washing Day throughout the world. The basic aim of the day is to design, test and replicate creative ways to encourage people to wash their hands with soap at critical times, as it is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Keeping in view the importance of Global hand washing day, FRD in collaboration with MSP not only celebrated GHD on 15th October but also dedicated the entire month of October to hand washing activities in 17 schools of Town-1 Peshawar.

    FRD established new VRC at Azakhel to facilitate speedy repatriation of afghan refugee families

    FRD has been taking care of the site maintenance activities at VRC and PCM Chamkani from where the voluntary return of afghan refugee families has been taking place. Recently the pace of returns has increased significantly with average number of 700 families reporting to VRC for their documentation for returning to their areas country.

    Celebrated annually on 15th October, Global Hand Washing day is an opportunity to design, test and replicate creative ways to encourage people to wash their hands with soap at critical times. Hand washing, when done correctly, is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Good hand washing technique is easy to learn and can significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases in both children and adults.

Since 2008, FRD is working for development and uplift of the marginalized rural communities through long term development and humanitarian assistance with cooperation of various development and humanitarian partners including; UNHCR, Inter Cooperation (Swiss funded), UNDP, UNOCHA, UNICEF, IOM, DRC, USAID, WFP, UNHABITAT, GIZ etc..

    To provide a common platform to all stakeholders working in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar organized a two day Disaster Management Exhibition (DME-2015) on December 02-03, 2015 at the University of Peshawar.

    FRD has entered an agreement with WFP to implement Food for work support program for Sustainable livelihood at Kurram and Orakzai Agency with main focus on the livelihoods support through DRR along with capacity building trainings with a modality of Food for work and food for training.
