830 IDPs families return from Nahqi IDPs Camp in Mohmand Agency FATA, to their areas of origin

Today more IDPs families returned to their places of origin as the government has declared more areas safe for return. A total of 830 IDPs families from Nahqi camp returned to their places of origin.
This return brought down the number of registered families inside camp to 888. All the families have returned voluntarily. The returnees were reported to be happy with returns as they can have the remaining days of the month of Ramadhan and the subsequent Eidul Fitr festival at their villages.

A military operation was launched in January 2011 against militants in various parts of the Mohmand Agency to re establish the writ of the government. The conflict situation caused thousand s of families to flee their houses and take refuge in one of the IDPs camps established inside Mohmand Agency. Initially two camps were established one at Danishkool and one at Nahqi. In the beginning of March 2011 Danishkol Camp was closed due to return of the IDPs to their areas of origin while the Nahqi Camp still continues to host families from the areas of conflict.

All the returnee families were provided with return package decided by return task force, FDMA and UNHCR.
