FRD in collaboration with PMU-MSPKP, celebrated Global Hand Washing day in City Grammar School, Town-1 Peshawar

Celebrated annually on 15th October, Global Hand Washing day is an opportunity to design, test and replicate creative ways to encourage people to wash their hands with soap at critical times. Hand washing, when done correctly, is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Good hand washing technique is easy to learn and can significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases in both children and adults.

Keeping in view importance of Global hand washing day, FRD in collaboration with PMU-MSPKP dedicated the entire month of October to hand washing activities in Private as well as in Public schools of Town-1 Peshawar. The objective of hand washing activates in schools is to Promote Hygiene and to sensitize community regarding importance of hand washing with soap and water to reduce the spread of diseases.

On 15th October, as part of hand washing activities, FRD celebrated Global Hand Washing day in City Grammar School, Mahal Tarai-2, Neighborhood Gharib Abad, Mohallah Gharib Abad of Town-1 Peshawar. In order to monitor this activity, the CD team of PMU-MSPKP also accompanied FRD Hygiene Promoters.

In the event, FRD hygiene promoters discussed the importance of hygiene and hand washing with soap to 200 students. They also demonstrated students and teachers the  proper way of hand washing  using five steps method i.e wet hands, apply soap, scrub all surfaces of hands, rinse and air dry. In the end of the program, IEC material was distributed among students and teachers.
