Families going to have their own house after many generations

FRD has successfully accomplished the most challenging task by facilitating 35 families in acquisition of lands who were living in spontaneous camps of Saleem Sugar Mills Charsada and kheshgi Nowshehra.
FRD was in close coordination with various individual philanthropist and organizations in this regard. FRD has raised the voice for the need of assistance to these families on various forums. The social welfare Department and other agencies working on land and property were approached and the issue was coordinated in this regard. Coordination was so effective that now all 35 families have land and can live their life with dignity.

As the availability of land and legal rights are ensured, FRD has started construction of permanent shelters on these lands accompanied by kitchen and washroom. So far 18 shelters have been completed while remaining 16 are under various stages of construction.

The families facilitated for land and shelter are poorest of poor without any productive assets for many generations and the tents they got have suffered a lot in terms of wear and tear. They were at the mercy of the nature for the last 18 months and didn’t have any solution to get rid of the sufferings.

Provision of One room shelter to these families has provided a dignified place of living to these families where they can live with proper protection against harsh weather and unhygienic conditions and can concentrate on building their lives with the peace of mind of having their own home..
