An exciting cricket tournament held at Jamrud cricket stadium by FRD and RAHA- UNHCR

Under RAHA cultural and youth events project, Cricket tournament was held at Jamrud Cricket stadium to promote healthy environment and social integration between refugee and host community of Khyber Agency.
Mr. Azmat Ullah Wazir, Tehsildar Jamrud, was the Chief Guest for the opening & closing ceremony of the tournament. Mr. Azmat Ullah Wazir is himself a keen follower of the sports and appreciated the effort of FRD and RAHA-UNHCR. 

16 teams participated which included Umar Mukhtar cricket club, Eleven Star cricket club, Tauheed cricket club, The Muslim cricket club, Ulfat cricket club, Malik cricket club, Rakalay cricket club, Tiger cricket club, Pak-Afridi cricket club, Jamrud Star cricket club, SX cricket club, Shaheen Riders cricket club, Journalist cricket club, Afghan cricket club, Khyber line cricket club and Pak-Khyber cricket club. Final match was played between Jamrud cricket club and Eleven Star cricket club. Jamrud star played their inning first and made 72 runs in 8 over while Eleven Star also made 72 runs in chasing. Therefore the match was decided by a super over in favor of Star Cricket club. 

Trophy and medals were presented to the winning and runner up teams along with cricket kits. Media was also present on both the opening and closing ceremonies of the event and provided full coverage for the event. 

At the end the project coordinator thanked all the members supported the event especially the Political Administration for provision of security & cooperation in the whole tournament.
