FRD starts relief and Early recovery for returnee IDPs in Kurram Agency

Foundation for Rural Development has entered an agreement with United Nations agency for refugees(UNHCR) for assisting returned IDPs in Kurram Agency with Shelter repair Kits. The project will enable 1000 returnee IDPs families to rebuild their destroyed houses.

It is to be noted that Kurram Agency has been suffering from deteriorated security situation and sectarian violence for the last more than 5 years. After restoration of peace in some areas of the agency, IDPs are returning to their places of origin.

Shelter being the 1st priority is being addressed by FRD and UNHCR, which will be followed by other interventions of early recovery and rehabilitation in the area. this project is a sort of pilot one which will provide shelter to more than 6000 individuals.
