FRD participated as an exhibitor in National Disaster Management Exhibition

To provide a common platform to all stakeholders working in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar organized a two day Disaster Management Exhibition (DME-2015) on December 02-03, 2015 at the University of Peshawar.

The exhibition was open for Government Organizations, Academic Institutions, NGOs, INGOs and Companies working in the field of disaster management. A total of 52 organization displayed their products, equipment, books, periodicals, research, pamphlets, models, case studies, software and services to the students and general public. About 150 schools and 70 colleges and universities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa participated as visitors in the two-day exhibition.

FRD participated as an exhibitor in the exhibition, as Disaster Risk Reduction is an essential component of FRD’s all interventions and FRD adopts various DRR strategies to ensure risk reduction measures both for natural and man-made disasters.

The main objective of this two day Disaster Management Exhibition was to promote awareness and sensitize the public in general and students of the UoP and other related institutions of KP in particular.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Chairman National Disaster Management (NDMA) Maj. Gen. Muhammad Saeed Aleem and UoP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan. He was accompanied by the Guest of Honour, Deputy Country Director World Food Programme-Pakistan Mr. Peter Scott Bowden and Prof. Dr. Amir Nawaz Khan of UoP.

They appreciated the participation of exhibitors and visitors. VC said the occasion would provide a networking opportunity for all to liaison and benefit from each other’s experience.
